David Walliams' Visit

What an amazing, amazing day! Brentry School was visited by the one and only David Walliams, as part of his Whirlwind Tour around the country to celebrate World Book Day.

He flew in by helicopter, answered our questions, read to us, chatted with us, had photos taken with us and made us laugh. The photos below give you a glimpse into our day. He was brilliant!

Thanks to the very clever Miss Evans who won us this visit by entering a national competition. She was asked to explain, in less than 50 words, why David should come to our school. Over 9000 schools entered, and ours was one of only 6 that were lucky enough to win. Here is her winning poem:

The helicopter lands just after play

Mr Walliams is here to make our day

Mr Spud would use one just for fun

Gangsta Granny to make her escape on the run

But David’s at Brentry as he knows when he lands

He'll simply be meeting his Number One Fans!
