Here at Brentry, our Eco Club do a brilliant job. Not only do they work hard to keep the school's energy usage low but they can often be found out and about getting their hands dirty, helping to design and develop our Outdoor Learning environment.
If you are interested in joining us, please see Mrs Jack and we'll see what we can do!
In May, a company called The Conservationist Volunteers came in and built us a pond for our Outdoor Classroom. We helped to dig out the pond and made sure it was level by stamping more mud onto the ground surrounding it. Fingers crossed the pond will attract lots of new wildlife to the area!
In February we got some new planters! They are old tyres painted in all sorts of different colours. We have used them to create a colourful border around the edge of the Outdoor Classroom.
We regularly litter pick to ensure our school environment is kept safe and clean. The amount we have to collect is reducing, thanks to the pupils being made more aware of just how much they drop. We are hoping to get some more bins put onto the field so that the children will have no excuse not to throw away their litter!
