From detailed models to beautifully presented research, each project reflects the effort and imagination that Year 5 have put into their learning. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and the way they have brought their understanding of space to life.

The children enjoyed making their own delicious pasta salads, practising their chopping, mixing and tasting skills. Well done Year 1 chefs!

It was a great opportunity for pupils to learn more about minibeasts and the environments they live in while developing their observation skills.

This promises to be a fun-filled evening for the whole family, with music, games, inflatables and great food to enjoy together. There will be entertainment from Party Peeps DJ, food vendors, and class stalls, creating a lively festival atmosphere on the school grounds.

It’s a wonderful opportunity for families, friends and the wider community to come together and celebrate the summer while supporting the school.

It was wonderful to see the pupils developing their making skills while bringing their animal characters to life!

The Book Fair is a fantastic opportunity for children to discover exciting new books and develop a love of reading. There will be a wide range of titles available for all ages and interests, making it the perfect chance for pupils to choose a book they are excited to read.

Every purchase helps to support our school library, allowing us to add new books and resources for all children to enjoy.

The excitement of English Week carried on today with our brilliant Year 6 Spelling Bee, where pupils showed off their fantastic vocabulary, concentration and spelling skills in a lively competition.

The buzz didn’t stop there! After watching the Year 6 event, classes held their own class spelling bees, giving pupils across the school the chance to test themselves and cheer on their classmates.  More photos can be found on Facebook.

Staff and pupils made a brilliant effort with their costumes, and it was wonderful to see so many creative characters around the school. During assembly we also announced our class costume winners – although with so many fantastic outfits it was incredibly difficult to choose!

Thank you to all parents and carers for helping the children take part and making the day so special.

The children explored a range of books, sharing their favourites and discovering new stories along the way. It was wonderful to see them so engaged and excited about reading!

Children enjoyed listening to stories with their teachers and sharing their love of books with friends. They also tucked into delicious hot chocolate topped with cream and marshmallows, along with a few biscuits – the perfect treat for a cosy evening of reading!

They were brilliant ambassadors for our school and impressed us with their mature behaviour and curiosity.

A great trip that left us all feeling inspired to read more! 🌟

Our girls were fantastic last tonight! They won 2 matches and drew 2, showing brilliant teamwork, determination and resilience throughout.

It was a brilliant opportunity to develop their love of reading and learn more about how a library works. The staff at Henbury Library made us feel very welcome – thank you for having us!

We’ll be celebrating World Book Day on Wednesday 4th March (a day earlier than the national date due to PE sessions).

Children are invited to come dressed as an iconic book character or in their pyjamas with their favourite book. Prizes will be awarded in each class for the most creative costumes!

🌙 Bedtime Stories – Tuesday 3rd March (NOT MONDAY) (4.30–5.30pm)
Pupils can return to school in their cosiest pyjamas or onesies to enjoy a story with their class and a hot chocolate (kindly donated by our PTA).
Please note: all children must be collected by an adult at 5.30pm.

They sang their planet song to help remember the order and names of the planets, then created fantastic models using play dough 🔭🧑‍🚀

Exploring, learning and having lots of outdoor fun 🌳✨

The children loved learning all about Roman invasion, leisure activities and weaponry, and were completely fascinated by the stories, artefacts and demonstrations.

From training as gladiators and soldiers to trying out marching to commands (which is definitely harder than it looks!), Year 3 were fully immersed in Roman life for the day.

What an amazing, hands-on experience and one they’ll remember for a long time to come! 🛡️✨

So much creativity, colour and concentration – the children did an amazing job and had great fun too!

Year 5 had a wonderful day stepping back in time to Ancient Greece! The children:

⚡ Acted out famous Greek myths

🛡️ Took part in an attack on Mrs Moore

🏃‍♀️ Competed in their own Olympic-style events

📚 Retrieved facts and showed off their brilliant learning

The children were absolutely fantastic throughout — full of enthusiasm, teamwork and brilliant historical knowledge! 🤩

Well done Year 5 for such a memorable day of learning!

As part of their Design & Technology lessons, Year 6 have been learning all about food from around the world — and even better, putting it into practice in the kitchen!

They’ve been cooking with Candice and creating some delicious dishes including:

🥨 German pretzels

🥟 Chinese spring rolls

🌮 Mexican tortillas

The children loved getting hands-on, developing their cooking skills and discovering flavours from different cultures. What a fantastic (and tasty!) way to learn!

We are so proud to introduce our new Year 4 Sustainability Team, who are already busy planning how they can make a real difference across our school.

They’ve got some exciting projects underway, including:

🌱 Helping to supervise the installation of our brand-new living wall

♻️ Looking at how we recycle in school and exploring ways to improve it

💡 Investigating how we use electricity in school, particularly our use of lights

This enthusiastic team are full of ideas and determination, and we can’t wait to see where their sustainability journey takes us.

Promoting rail safety is an important way we can all help keep our children safe around railways. Thank you for supporting this message and helping us keep safety a top priority.

It sparked some great discussions about how firefighting equipment today is far more advanced than it was back in 1666 during the Great Fire of London. A fantastic hands-on experience and a brilliant link to our learning – thank you for visiting us!

They then worked together to rank the jobs from what they believed were the highest-paid to the lowest-paid roles. Mrs Moore shared approximate salary figures for each job, which led to some thoughtful discussions — and a very lively conversation about how much footballers earn! 🫣⚽

A great lesson for sparking curiosity, debate and real-world understanding.
