    • Year 5 PSHE Learning

      Published 22/01/26

This week, Year 5 have been learning about a range of different jobs during their PSHE lessons. To bring the topic to life, the children played a game of job charades, using clues and teamwork to guess each role.

They then worked together to rank the jobs from what they believed were the highest-paid to the lowest-paid roles. Mrs Moore shared approximate salary figures for each job, which led to some thoughtful discussions — and a very lively conversation about how much footballers earn! 🫣⚽

A great lesson for sparking curiosity, debate and real-world understanding.

    • Lockdown Practice

      Published 16/01/26

This is just to let you know that we had a lockdown practice this afternoon. This is a normal part of safeguarding in schools that involves securing the children and adults in classrooms away from possible threats, such as chemical leaks or intruders.

We have installed a new lockdown siren and have spent the week preparing the children for the new (loud!) noise and updated procedures. We have also reminded them why we might need to lockdown, but deliberately did it in a way that we hope didn't stress them out or scare them.

The children completed the practice, a low-level one, with aplomb. I am letting you know just in case any of them, particularly the younger ones, were in anyway shocked or upset by it.

      Have a great weekend.
