    PSHE:

PSHE is the personal, social and health education we provide for our pupils. We deliver its curriculum primarily through the Jigsaw programme of work. The scheme is regularly updated to keep in line with new statutory requirements and the current issues in society, but allows for the flexibility to make it specific to Brentry.  The overview beneath outlines the key content for each puzzle (or theme) and when it is taught. Throughout, there is a strong emphasis building resilience and nurturing mental and physical health, key skills to help prepare our children for life's experiences and challenges.

    No Outsiders:

This is a new scheme of learning we have been trialling so far this year. This covers the teaching of the 9 Protected Characteristics which the children have become increasingly familiar with since the beginning of this year. The lessons are delivered through picture books, all with messages surrounding acceptance and respect. Each class covers one lesson per term, in addition to our weekly PSHE lessons to ensure the children of Brentry develop a strong moral compass and high levels of emotional literacy. This is so important to us at Brentry.

We evidence all the PSHE and No Outsiders learning in our class floor books. These can be seen at any opportunity you are able to come into the classroom and on Parents Evenings!
