Mindful for Mental Health ![]()
Some of our KS2 pupils spent the afternoon taking part in one of our ‘Mindful for Mental Health’ activities ![]()
A lovely way to pause, reflect and support our wellbeing together ![]()
Year 3 really enjoyed their soil workshop for science learning about what makes up soil and its importance!
Year 4 took inspiration from designer and architect Le Corbusier, who used shapes as the foundations of his buildings. After creating their own 2D buildings last week, today they channelled that creativity into their Christmas card designs, piecing together shapes to make reindeer, Santas, snowmen and elves ![]()

Don’t forget — if you’d like to place an order, please do so before next Monday and return your artwork to school.
Today, Year 3 put their map-making skills to the test by creating detailed drawings of our Forest School area ![]()

They explored the space carefully, noting key features before sketching their own maps. A brilliant mix of creativity and geography skills in action! ![]()

Year 5 had a fantastic basketball coaching session this afternoon from RG coaching.
It's really easy to buy your school uniform from Goodies. Scan the QR code or visit their website.
On Thursday 23rd October at 2:15pm Mrs Moore invites you to come and attend a handwriting workshop. During this session, Mrs Moore will explain what our expectations are and how we are delivering handwriting sessions. Please let Mrs Moore know if you are attending or add a thumbs up to this post. Many thanks ![]()
Year 4 loved celebrating National Poetry Day today. We based our poetry on emotions/ feelings and first discussed how our feelings can be put into zones or colours (zones of regulation). We even sang a ZOR song along to a live guitar instrumental. We then began to personify these feelings and create characters/places of this one zone or feeling. We looked at a poem for inspiration that was called ‘The Land of Blue’ before mind-mapping our own ideas and rhyming words.
The children wrote some excellent poems inspired by the zones of regulation and some of us enjoyed performing them to year 3! We have also videoed a few of us reciting our poems for you to hear!
This morning, the majority of the class were not the biggest fans of poetry. By the end of the day, the majority had changed their minds. We had fun with it, got creative and succeeded! Here are a few comments about our day:
“You’ve actually changed my mind on poetry now Miss Horseman. That was fun” - Josie
“That was the best morning ever”- Lilly
“Can I do my poem at break time too?” -Theo

Christmas Cards are coming! ![]()
![]()
Our classes have been designing their own Christmas cards and Year 5 smashed it today.
Here’s how it works:
1. Artwork coming home by Wed 8th October at the latest.
2. Place your order online, on the Cauliflower Cards website, using the unique code on your child’s form any time once the artwork is at home.
3. Return the original artwork to school by Mon 13th October so we can post it off.
If we don’t receive the artwork back by 13th October, Cauliflower Cards can’t print your child’s personalised items—even if you’ve ordered online.
These make gorgeous keepsakes and gifts (cards, mugs, tea towels and more) and every order helps raise funds for our school. Thank you for supporting Brentry! ![]()
