  • New year, new literary adventures

Young readers at Brentry Primary School can now enjoy lots of new literary adventures thanks to a £1,000 book donation.

The school’s new collection of Usborne Books from local housebuilder, David Wilson Redrow South West, will support more than 200 pupils from reception to Year 6, enriching lessons and sparking imagination.

Claire Moore, English Lead at Brentry Primary School, said: “We are extremely grateful for this donation as we have recently created reading nook cabins in our playground where children can read during lunchtimes, and these books will help to stock these areas.  Reading in primary school opens the door to every other subject – it builds imagination, strengthens thinking, and gives children the confidence to explore the world through words.”

Louise Ware, sales director for David Wilson Redrow South West, added: “It’s wonderful to know these books will make a difference for children at Brentry Primary School. Supporting literacy is something we feel passionately about and we’re proud to play a small part in helping the next generation discover the joy of books.”
