Whole School Topic Overview

We organise our whole school curriculum into 3 blocks based on seasonal terms. Each block has a theme, and the main topics focused on in each block reflect these themes, as does any enrichment organised such as WOW events, trips and visitors. Autumn is our history based block, spring our geography block and summer our creative arts block.

We chose these themes as a way to ensure that foundation subjects aren't neglected and remain central to what we do; to ensure the curriculum is broad and balanced and to make learning as relevant and interesting as possible for our pupils. 

Whilst particular subjects such as English, maths and science are taught discretely throughout the year, we do try and make links and use cross curricular approaches where we can.
