Walk Up Mount Everest

We raised an incredible £1491.78 !

We held a sponsored walk of 8.85km (the height of Mt Everest) to raise money for the children of Kodari, a village in Nepal. We had a great walk, despite the field being wet and muddy. We even hung some prayer flags up to brighten up the afternoon!

Drs Ian and Rosa Matheson, grandparents of lovely Evan in Year 1, fund Angel's Orphanage, that looks after over 20 abandoned or orphaned children in Kathmandu. They came in to school and told us all about the village of Kodari, and how it had been devastated in the earthquakes of 2015. Many families lost family members, their homes and the children lost their school.

All the money we raised was spent on helping the children of this village. As you can see from the photos below, it was spent on things such as books, pencils, educational games, posters, shawls, warm hats, uniforms and even a party for the children! Thank you to all who sponsored our pupils and helped the pupils of Sree Singha Devi Primary School.

Here are some photos from the school, and of the walk itself...
